Find out more about new features and improvements in Fabasoft Approve.
As a user you can expect the following new features.
It is now possible to automatically revoke permissions for selected users in an App Room – such as a project, partner, storage area, or directory.
This feature is available under “Permissions” in the “Automatic Revocation of Permissions” menu item. There, you can specify the affected users as well as a specific time (or time period) from which the permissions will be revoked.
This allows you, for example, to control when users automatically lose access to the corresponding App Room after completing their work on a project.
The Interactive Exploded View automatically detects references to relevant objects within an open PDF document and links them to the corresponding objects in Fabasoft Approve. In order for the Interactive Exploded View to recognize specific objects, AI entity definitions must first be created. These entity definitions can be created in the app configuration or in an App Room under the AI settings.
When defining an entity, you must specify the object class whose instances are to be recognized, as well as the underlying property in which the value to be recognized is stored. Additionally, a regular expression must be defined to identify the desired values.
Example: In an Interactive Exploded View, defects are to be recognized based on their ID. The search pattern for the defect ID is “UT-\d{6}.” A specific ID, for example, is “UT-004100.” If a user opens a PDF containing this ID, the Interactive Exploded View highlights the text and links it to the corresponding defect. The user can then access the defect directly from the document.
The following new features await you in the correspondence management solution area.
As a user you can expect the following new features.
In Fabasoft Approve, it is now possible to use a stamp to add QR codes to document entries for documents, actions, and open items. By scanning the QR code, users are taken directly to the approved version of the respective document.
This feature is particularly useful on construction sites, as employees can access important document information directly via smartphone or tablet and verify whether the document version is up to date.
To use this feature, a placeholder stamp must be created. The placeholder stamp must be created as a dynamic stamp with a size of 100 × 100 millimeters. An image that fills the entire area is inserted into the stamp. The alternative text “<~qrcode~>” must be specified for this image.
The stamp can then be approved and used.
Fabasoft Approve Correspondence now supports the import of BCF files. This allows actions and open items to be created directly from BIM models in Fabasoft Approve and then processed in a controlled manner.
The import and export of objects has been improved to make working with lists and document instances more flexible:
The export of empty lists has now been adjusted so that even with an empty list, a template is exported that the user can fill out directly.
Importing document instances is now available at any time. This allows document entries for multiple document instances to be imported simultaneously and additional metadata to be set.
A prerequisite is that the document instances are editable – that is, they have not yet been published. Creating new document instances is also only possible if permitted by the repository.
The handling of cover pages has been improved: They can now be created and previewed without being attached directly to the document entries.
This allows cover pages to be created and reviewed based on the document metadata before they are added to the respective document entries.
