Users
As an end user, you can expect the following new features.
Clearer Naming for Minutes and Decision Tiles
In the new tile view, the titles for recording minutes have been optimized to avoid confusion and sharpen the distinction between documents and text fields.
The changes at a glance:
- Minutes & Decision Documents: The previous "Minutes (Word)" tile has been renamed. This name now makes it clear that both minute and decision documents (Word) are stored and edited here.
- Direct Entry: The "Minutes (Text)" tile has been renamed to "Direct Entry". This clarifies that content is entered directly into the HTML text fields within Fabasoft Boards, rather than using an external document.
Modern Text Editor: Integration of CKEditor 5
Text editing in Fabasoft Boards has been upgraded to the latest generation of CKEditor 5. This brings a more modern and fluid writing experience directly to Fabasoft Boards.
The advantages of the new integration:
- Seamless Design: Unlike the previous version, formatting options no longer open in intrusive pop-ups that cover parts of the text field.
- In-Place Editing: The toolbar is now integrated directly into the text field and remains context-sensitive within your line of sight.
This update ensures a much cleaner interface and makes writing minutes and resolutions more efficient.

Multilingual Fields for Committees and Meetings
To provide optimal support for collaboration in multilingual environments, key data fields in Fabasoft Boards have been converted to multilingual fields.
From now on, titles and names can be stored in multiple languages for the following objects:
- Meetings: The subject of the meeting.
- Committees: The official name of the committee.
- Agenda Items: The title of the respective agenda item.
This update ensures that users see content consistently in their preferred language and that protocols and invitations can be generated with the correct linguistic terminology.
Enhanced Overview for Business Items and Motions
This release significantly improves the visibility of parliamentary processes at both the committee and dashboard levels:
- Permanent Motion History: Motions are now permanently displayed in the committee listing, even after they have reached the status "Accepted". A new status field provides immediate information on the current state ("Open" or "Accepted").
- Central Business Items Widget: A new "Business Items" tile is now available on the main Boards dashboard. This aggregates all business items across all committees for which you have authorization.
- Focused Tile View: The "Submitted Motions" tile has been renamed to "Motions" and specifically displays the six most recent motions with the status "Submitted".
These enhancements ensure that you never lose sight of important business items – regardless of which committee they are being processed in.
Administrators
As administrators, you can expect the following new features.
Multilingual Dashboard Suffix for Meetings and Proposals
App administrators can now define a custom, multilingual suffix in the Boards configuration. This enhancement allows for better differentiation of various app instances directly on the home dashboard – a major advantage for multi-tenant systems or multilingual organizations.
