Material Master
Material master management makes it possible to manage materials and price conditions. Materials and price conditions can be created and updated via a web service interface, for example from SAP.

Material Master Dashboard
The material master dashboard is your central access point for material master management.
If you are added to a material master configuration as an app user or app administrator, a dashboard is automatically created and placed on “Home”. If you are removed again as an app user or app administrator, the dashboard is also removed.
The material master dashboard is divided into the following areas:
- Recently Used
Shows the materials and price conditions you recently used. - Material Shelves
Shows the material shelves in which you are authorized. Each material shelf defines its own access rights context. - Price Lists
Shows the price lists in which you are authorized. Each price list defines its own access rights context.
You can perform the following actions:
- Create Material Shelf
As an app administrator, you can use the “Create Material Shelf” action to create new material shelves. - Create Price List
As an app administrator, you can use the “Create Price List” action to create new price lists. - Switch to Configuration
As an app administrator, you can use the “Switch to Configuration” action to display the configuration assigned to the dashboard. - Settings
You can use the “Settings” action to define general properties of the material master dashboard (e.g. the logo or the notification setting).
Material master Configuration
As an app administrator, you can define general settings in the material master configuration.
Note: As an app administrator, you can switch to the assigned configuration via the material master dashboard.
Areas
The material master configuration dashboard is divided into the following areas:
- Shelves
Shows the material shelves and price lists in which the materials and price conditions are managed. Each shelf defines its own access rights context. - Sales Organizations
Shows the sales organizations that can be used in the context of material master management. The organizations are managed in “Contact Management” and referenced here. You can store individual organizations, but also contact rooms and address lists. You can find more information on contact management in chapter “Contact Management”. - Quantity Units
Shows the defined quantity units that can be used for materials. - The description of the other general areas can be found in chapter “Configurations”.
Actions
You can perform the following actions:
- Create Material Shelf
You can use the “Create Material Shelf” action to create new material shelves. - Create Price List
You can use the “Create Price List” action to create new price lists. - Translations
The “Translations” action can be used to export or import a CSV file with the multilingual names of the customizing objects. This enables an external translation. - Settings
You can use the “Settings” action to define general settings. - Permissions
You can use the “Permissions” action to define app administrators who are allowed to edit the configuration and create shelves. App users are authorized to use the material master management. The respective access rights are defined via the shelves.
Note: The licenses used are calculated based on the users entered.
Settings
The description of the general settings can be found in chapter “Configurations”.
Material Shelves
Material shelves are used for the structured management of materials and for defining access rights (“Permissions” action).
You can store the materials directly in the shelf at top-level or use folders for further structuring.
In addition to the structured management of materials, it is also possible to manage them unstructured. You can find more information on unstructured shelves in chapter “Unstructured Shelves”.
Price Lists
Price lists are used for the structured management of price conditions and for defining access rights (“Permissions” action).
You can store the price conditions directly in the shelf at top-level or use folders for further structuring.
In addition to the structured management of price conditions, it is also possible to manage them unstructured. You can find more information on unstructured shelves in chapter “Unstructured Shelves”.
Creating Materials
To create a material, proceed as follows:
- Navigate in the desired material shelf.
- Click the “Create Material” action.
- Enter the material’s data. The Material Number is a mandatory field.
- Click “Next”.
The following fields are available:
- Material Number
The material number of the material. - Multilingual Name
The multilingual name of the material. - Sales Organization (Owner)
The sales organization that originally sells the material. - Sales Organizations
The sales organizations that, in addition to the owner, are authorized to sell the material for the owner. - Quantity Unit
Defines the default quantity unit for the material. - Alternative Quantity Units
Defines additional quantity units with a conversion factor for the material.
Example:
Quantity Unit: Hours
Alternative Quantity Units: Person days with conversion factor 8
Creating Price Conditions
To create a price condition, proceed as follows:
- Navigate in the desired price list.
- Click the “Create Price Condition” action.
- Enter the price condition’s data. The Price Condition ID is a mandatory field.
- Click “Next”.
The following fields are available:
- Price Condition ID
The ID of the price condition. - Material
The material to which the price condition applies. - Sales Organization
The sales organization to which the price condition applies. - Valid From
The price condition is valid from the specified date. - Valid Until
The price condition is valid until the specified date. - Calculation Rule
Defines the calculation rule (percentage, quantity, etc.) for the price condition. - Scale Type
Defines whether there is a quantity scale for the price condition. - Condition Amount (Price)
Defines the price of the price condition. - Price Scales
If a quantity scale has been defined as the scale type, the price scales are available.- Scale Kind
Defines whether it is a from scale or a to scale. - Scale List
Defines a list consisting of the scale quantity and condition amount.
- Lower Limit
Defines the lower limit of the price. - Upper Limit
Defines the upper limit of the price. - Quantity Unit
Defines the quantity unit of the price condition. Only quantity units that have been stored for the defined material can be selected.
